April 24, 2010 - 2010 Spring Shooter’s Certification Training

This is a full-day course approved by the Office of the State Fire Marshal of Missouri for individuals seeking a license to conduct display fireworks shows in the state of Missouri or those simply interested in learning more about display fireworks.

The morning session explains and discusses NFPA 1123 and emphasizes the importance of safety at all times.  Upon completion of this session, a written test will be administered.  The afternoon session is a ‘hands on’ exercise for all registrants to set up and hand fire pyrotechnics and will include several safety demonstrations.  After successful completion of both sessions and the written exam, a certificate will be awarded to each registrant.

Fire Service personnel - Eight (8) CEU hours will be awarded towards Fire Inspector certification.

9:00 - 12:00        Classroom portion of training

12:00 - 12:45      Written test on material covered

12:45 -   2:00      Lunch

2:00 -   4:00        Hands-on firing, safety procedures and setup training

4:00 - 6:00          Break for Dinner

DIRECTIONS::

From Hwy 44, exit at Fenton/Valley Park; continue north on 141 (cross over Meramec River)

Turn right onto Marshall Road at stoplight; continue for 2 blocks

Turn left onto Beckett Memorial; continue for 1 block

Turn right onto St. Louis Avenue; continue for 2 to 3 blocks

Turn left onto 3rd Street; continue for 1 to 2 blocks

Turn right onto Benton Street; City Hall will be on the left
